The Bharat Dialogues Women’s Mental Health Summit & Awards, 2024 will take place on March 8, 2024, at the Indian International Centre in New Delhi. This event aims to develop a cumulative plan of action and flicker creative thought to improve mental health conditions throughout the country.

WMHSA 2024 aims to break down barriers that exist in the sector of mental health through a cross-cultural approach, during times when women’s mental health is receiving critical attention. It not only allows for the formation of meaningful partnerships, but also an increase in the body of knowledge.

Pooja Priyamvada and Vivek Satya Mitram, underline the necessity of this sort of summit in the contemporary Indian context: In her reflection on the necessity of WMHSA, she says, “Programs like WMHSA are not only necessary, but also critical in a country where the narrative about mental health is always evolving.”

According to them, while women’s mental health in India still has numerous challenges, there is still a substantial possibility for progress.
In order to facilitate these platforms, this summit aims to connect a diverse group of participants, including startup founders, and fearless survivors, senior mental health practitioners and educators.

Why an event like WMHSA is needed?
  • Approximately 7.5% of Indian women suffer from significant mental health issues, with over 50% having at least one mental health episode throughout their lives.
  • At a rate of one in 8, mental health disorders affect men, while women experience these conditions at a higher frequency, with one in 5.
  • In young women aged between the ages of 16 to 24, over a quarter go through mental health issues on a weekly basis.

The significance of women’s strengthening is vital for the movement of sex correspondence and society in general.
