Happiness is a decision

The reason why there is so little happiness in this world is ‘dependency’. Happiness is not dependent on ‘anything’ or ‘anyone’ or found ‘anywhere’.

Happiness is only possible when people accept everyone as they are. That means an end to judging or resisting others, an end to complaining and blaming, an end to criticising and controlling and an end to competing with anyone.

It is possible only when you choose thoughts and feelings aligned with our true nature of purity, peace and love that we shift from; asking to share, holding on to letting go, expectations to acceptance, past or future for being in the now- the present. People can create a life of joy and bliss because they have the choice and the power to decide.

The search for happiness gobbles their lives up. Many of them continually postpone their happiness indefinitely. It’s not that they consciously set out to do so, but they keep convincing themselves, “Someday I’ll be happy”. They think they will be happy once they get out of school, get a job, buy a car, a better house, find the love of their life. The truth is that there is no better time to be happy than right now.

  • The quality of thoughts they create in their mind generates corresponding feelings. Hence their happiness is directly linked to what they choose to think.
  • In challenging situations, people lose their happiness because they have been living in the illusion that the external situation decides their inner state.
  • When people blame situations, others or even God for their state of mind, they cease to take responsibility for their own creations: their thoughts, words and actions. Situations are only stimulus and people always have a choice in every situation.
  • People always have the power to create positive thoughts, irrespective of the situation. Happiness is a personal choice.

Happiness is not a destination, it is a journey that needs to be traveled.
Happiness is not tomorrow, it is now and here!!
