Applications are Out for the UGC-NET December 2023 Cycle

UGC-NET

The UGC-NET test, developed to determine whether Indian citizens are qualified for the positions of “Assistant Professor” and “Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor” in Indian universities and colleges, is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA), under contract with the University Grants Commission (UGC). The National Testing Agency (NTA) has been conducting the UGC-NET in computer-based test (CBT) mode since December 2018 onwards.

Every year, the UGC-NET is held twice (in June and December). The National Testing Agency (NTA), in conjunction with UGC, is holding the UGC NET December 2023 in 83 topics at selected cities across the nation in an effort to regularise the UGC-NET examination cycle.

The candidate’s overall performance in Paper-I and Paper-II of the UGC-NET will determine whether they are awarded a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and/or whether they are eligible for an assistant professorship. The JRF award is not open to applicants who simply satisfy the prerequisites for an assistant professorship. The rules and regulations of the concerned universities, colleges, or state governments, as the case may be, for the recruitment of Assistant Professors, apply to candidates who pass the eligibility test for assistant professorship.
