RCI’s verdict on All India Online Aptitude Test (AIOAT) 2020

The Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) has declared certain decisions with regards to the admission process of the academic year 2020-2021. It announces decisions related to conducting RCI approved Courses by the training/institutes/National Universities/University Departments for the current  academic year. Due to the unavoidable pandemic situation the Council has decided to relax the condition of ‘All India Online Aptitude Test’ (AIOAT) 2020 for admissions to all RCI approved Diploma Courses.

It has been mentioned that the institutions whose inspection is on going currently and the proposals which have been rejected will be given another opportunity to submit the undertaking/affidavit and then the admissions will be given from 2020-2021 based on some terms and conditions. It is also mentioned that the approval will not be extended anymore in the future under any shortcomings. The institutions which were undergoing the inspection process were not completed due to the Covid-19 situation. The pandemic situation had put a hold on all the working departments which has led to revising and improvising on various aspects. Educational departments have been taking up decisions for the better future of the students.

The admissions have started in a lot of universities all over to keep a continuity and a connection to the education system. The team which has been deputed for the inspection will resume once the conditions are back to normal. The decision of taking up the admissions and that the students should not suffer in their academics and education is in consideration of the current situation 

It has been notified that the admissions will be given strictly on the basis of merit. The intake of the admissions remain the same as the previous academic year 2019-2020. Also the fresh proposals which have been received will not be receiving approval without inspection process. The inspection will take place on the basis of current situations of Covid-19 and its severity.

There needs to be safety measures taken for avoiding any kind of risk factors. Getting the regularity in the daily routine is what the motive is at this point of time with the current panic situation of pandemic. Parents are worried about their children’s future being on hold and on the other hand also staying and keeping family members safe from the environmental conditions at the same time.

The notice mentions that the admissions for the Diploma Courses will be directly taken up by the Council through Centralized Online Admission Process on merit basis. The guidelines for the courses and the details will be issued differently and it is important to keep a check on the website for the updates of the process. The website has been updated with the recent announcements and notices for the kind reference of the audience, parents, students who are interested in applying for the admissions.
