Ministry of Ayush allotted August 30 to September 5 to organize various activities and launching Y-Break mobile app was one such initiative. Dr. Munjpara said the Yoga asanas in the Y-Break Instructions help our cardiovascular system and also hoping that people across India will adopt this simple practice to reduce their stress and improves productivity at their workplace. The government of India issued a circular to all employees to do yoga for five minutes in all government offices to release stress, improves focus, and be physically fit as well. Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush, worried about employees working in an atmosphere of tension and that’s why yoga is crucial in our lives. He added many analyses have been done which proves that yoga is the best way to be physically fit. Y-BREAK may be a big step in relieving stress and provides maximum benefits within the shortest possible time. With the initiative of launching the Y-BREAK app yoga will enter every household and people try to include it in every sector of their life targeting different age groups and professions. Swami Vivekananda introduced yoga to the western world and presently it became a worldwide fitness mantra to release anxiety and enhance concentration levels. With the help of Y-BREAK, the techniques can be easily taught to the common man and we can carry forward the legacy of our ancestors. We successfully combined ancient tradition with present technology. Yoga has many physical and spiritual benefits and government should take efforts in such fields to promote mental wellbeing through our ancient traditions. Dr. Pratima Murty, Director National Institute of psychological state and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru said Yoga is extremely useful for people that are otherwise healthy because it improves mental and cognitive ability and reduces anxiety. There are many kinds of research that have proved yoga and its effects on depression, anxiety, and even schizophrenia.(1) It not just restricts to the physical benefits but tremendously positively affects cognition.

Mental well-being in the workplace is a challenge that our country faces currently with most of the sector belongs to the unorganized sector with no clue about the mental health difficulties such as Stress and Anxiety they faces in their everyday lives. We need to realize that a mentally unhealthy environment can lead to mental as well as physical health problems. Working for a prolonged period of time can lead to strains, back pain, headaches, stress-related diseases, etc. Spreading awareness by such apps, campaigns should be encouraged and appreciated that promotes mental well-being in our country. Small breaks at the workplace encourage creativity, allows us to be more productive, we can retain things up, help us to think clearly and context-based looking for a big picture. A collective effort in the area of mental health and well-being should be promoted and yoga for few minutes is one such step to release stress.
