In the case of a couple’s divorce, the Delhi High Court observed that the wife forcing the husband to fulfill extravagant needs which goes beyond his financial capacity is sufficient enough to cause mental cruelty to the husband and disrupt the peace and harmony of their married life.
Justice Suresh Kumar Kait and Justice Neena Bansal Krishna made this observation while upholding a divorce case on the ground of cruelty by wife.
The judges also mentioned that the wife should not constantly remind her husband of her financial limits and added that one must be able to differentiate and balance between their needs, wants and desires.

How can one achieve harmony and peace in their married life?
Major causes of the conflicts that takes place in a marital relationship is because of miscommunication, unrealistic expectations and insensitivity towards the partner.
