The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is a well-known institution for mental health, neurosciences, and allied fields, located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is the country’s leading institution for education and research in the field. NIMHANS is a government-controlled organisation. According to the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking and Framework) rankings, NIMHANS is the fourth-best medical institute in India. It operates independently under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

On 24 January 2024, the prestigious institution released a notification about a vacancy for a Clinical Psychologist with a research background. This post is available on a contract basis at the Centre for Brain and Mind, which is funded by Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies (RNP).

Eligibility Details

Educational Qualifications: The official announcement mentions that a candidate must have done their M. Phil in Clinical Psychology (2 years), or should hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with at least 3 years of experience.

Experience: Candidates with an M. Phil do not need to have any previous experience. However, research experience in the area of Neuropsychology, or proficiency in the local language (Kannada) is desirable.

Age Limit: The maximum age limit for any potential candidate is 45 years of age.
