The National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) is a multidisciplinary centre for treatment and research. It is the top educational facility in the country for studying neuroscience and mental health. In 2012, NIMHANS received the designation of “Institute of National Importance”. Qualified candidates can submit their applications for the contract position of “Senior Research Fellow” in the GOS-funded project led by Dr. Senthil Kumar Reddi V, Professor of Psychiatry and Principal Investigator, NIMHANS.

The project is titled Positive Mental Health for Applied Suicide Interventions and Enhancing Preventive Measures Programme: NIMHANS– Sikkim Police Personnel Mental Health ‘In-Step’ Programme.

Walk-in-Selection Timings:  06/11/2023; 10:00 A.M.

Application for Senior Research Fellow:

No. of post: 1

Age Limit: 35 years

Salary Structure: Rs. 60,000/- per month (Consolidated)

Duration: 6 months (can be extended further)

Essential Qualification: M. Phil. in Clinical Psychology approved by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) or M. Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), with appropriate experience

Desirable:
  • Qualifications from reputable educational institutions.
  • Academic awards include fellowships, grants, and the University Gold Medal.
  • Working with multidisciplinary research teams is an asset. Clinical and/or Research experience in telemedicine or tele-training.
  • Scientific publications with indexes.
  • Proficient in Hindi.
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Tele-training: It includes delivering instruction, keeping track of programme progress, creating lectures, communicating with participants, holding online classes, having case discussions, creating SOPs, organising and carrying out training, creating training materials, IEC charts, and booklets for police personnel to train other police personnel as trainers to build a solid pool of qualified trainers.
  • When necessary, coordinated audio/video consultations.
  • Assisting in the development of supervisory and mentoring abilities
  • Managing and entering data, conducting research, emailing, Preparing and getting data on the results.
  • Conducting routine evaluations and site visits for on-site instruction. 
  • Encouraging continuation assistance.
  • Mastery of the use of Learning video software, Google Drive, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, videos, and learning blogs, among other things.

Note: Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements mentioned above are encouraged to attend the WALK-IN-SELECTION, which will take place in the Committee Room, adjacent to the Academic section on the 4th floor of the NBRC Building Administrative Block, NIMHANS, Bengaluru, with their resume, a letter of recommendation from the principal investigator if they are working on extramural or intramural projects at NIMHANS and original testimonials. A set of photocopies will also be reviewed.

Important Instructions for Candidates:
  • Candidates must register their names half an hour before the commencement of the written/skill test.
  • There will be no TA or DA for showing up for the written or skill test.
