Seth Abramson, an Elon Musk biographer, shared concerns about the mental health and decision-making process of the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. According to a series of tweets on X, the platform owned by Musk, Abramson warned that Elon is “going mad,” and he says there is a need for immediate government intervention to protect the US from potential hazards because of Musk’s influence.
Watching the behaviour of Musk for the past two years, Abramson pointed out various difficulties the billionaire has admitted that he is under a ton of stress. “I’m a Musk biographer who has been tracking his online behaviour for the last two years and given that he’s admitted to all of mental illness, heavy drug use, and crippling stress, it is now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell.”
In his words, Abramson is increasingly emphasizing the urgency of the situation by urging the current White House administration, which is in its last few weeks, to open their eyes and dare to put an end to governmental contracts providing resources to Musk. He continued further with a proposition of filing lawsuits against some unconstitutional initiatives connected to Elon Musk as the Head of the Department of Govt Efficiency (DOGE).
Reference was made in his statement to the involvement of Elon Musk in areas such as aerospace and electric vehicles, social media, and artificial intelligence which are considered civilization-critical industries. He reasoned that the billionaire’s active role in the governmental transition team could jeopardise national security. “His madness and increasing incitement of violence endanger us all.”
In recent months, Musk has been way more vocal on X, discussing things controversially and saying polarising things. He made an observation when he criticized the UK government for refusing public inquiry on the grooming case in Oldham and pointed an accusing finger at the UK prime minister for not being able to prosecute the perpetrators during Starmer’s reign as director of public prosecutions. These actions were labelled by Musk as a “massive crime against humanity”. Many people will possibly challenge that perspective unless it is backed by valid reasons.
Abramson’s warnings have galvanized several people who use X into discussion. Some noted that the biographer’s argument makes sense about Musk’s behaviour, while others defended Musk’s stance. One; for example, testified to Musk’s negative image as a “thin-skinned, drug-addled Bond villain”, another went on to speculate Musk could regard himself as the protector of Western culture.
Mental health problems were not a new subject of inquiry in the past for Musk. Reports surfaced last year regarding a breakdown following public booing at a Dave Chappelle show shortly after acquiring Twitter for $44 billion. This also fuels debate about his influence on society today.
