Alarming Statistics
According to the Telegraph, a leading digital Healthcare platform Medibuddy and CII said that as much as 62% of Indian workers experience burnout. Surprisingly, this number is more than three times higher than the global average of 20% which makes it very important for the stakeholders to act on this issue.
The report ‘Mapping India’s Corporate Health and Wellness Landscape’ was based on insights from the employees of close to 1,000 companies and found that only 24 per cent of employees feel satisfied with their current workplace health options, which means that more comprehensive Employer-provided Healthcare options are needed.
It stated that around 71 per cent of employees spend an average of 5 per cent of their annual income on out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. This indicates a significant gap between employee needs and existing corporate wellness programs. The Telegraph reports that This is a tremendous hindrance to a more productive workforce in India’s corporate landscape.
