The counselling services offered by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in February earlier will begin from January in 2023. After a gap of two years, the board examinations for X and XII will take place through regular physical mode. The official website (https://www.cbse.gov.in/) has already uploaded sample question papers, exam pattern, and mark distribution to acquaint the students with the process of examination.
The Counseling Facilities in 2023 include IVRS, podcasts, and tele-counseling.
IVRS: This facility is free of cost and will help students in the domain of stress-free preparation for exams, time and stress management, prevention from COVID, as well as frequently asked questions and important contact details for CBSE offices (can be accessed in Hindi and English). It is available 24*7 for both students and parents on Board’s toll-free number 1800-11-8004.
Podcasts: The same information available through IVRS can be retrieved from bilingual podcasts on the official website.
Tele-counselling: The Board is providing voluntary and free-of-charge counselling service from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM FROM Monday to Saturday. 84 counsellors from India and a few other countries including Nepal, Oman, Japan, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Singapore will contribute in the counselling service.
In addition to above facilities, the audio-visual content focusing on topics like youth experience, aggression, depression, internet addiction disorder, examination stress, substance use disorders, and life skills can be accessed through official CBSE pages on various platforms.
With a significant impact of pandemic, the students might require assistance and support to cope with the demands of upcoming examinations. Fear, doubts, and nervousness can make it difficult for students to efficiently manage the exam stress. Having access to in hand services will make the process smooth.
Following a structured routine, taking breaks between study sessions, practicing deep breathing, eating a nutritious diet that includes brain foods like almonds, walnuts, green leafy vegetables, turmeric, broccoli, and fresh fruits, affirming positive thoughts, and having a support system can help the students to get through the exam period more easily.
