For me, psychology is more than a scientific study. It is a passion that I have been pursuing since I was 16 years old. Currently, I am an undergraduate student studying Applied Psychology. I came across this subject in class 9th when a teacher of mine told us about how conditioning works and how it's used in our daily lives. It made me aware of mental processes and it's implications. Since then, I am constantly trying to understand human behaviour by engaging in experiences such as internships. I try my best to be aware of the current happenings in the world of psychology. The discipline that fascinates me the most is social and personality psychology I respect individuality and individual differences. It's time to look beyond societal expectations and see individuals as who they really are. Taking up this subject has helped me understand the emotions I experience and those of others. It has changed me as a person and helped me establish a better outlook towards the lives which people around me lead. It has made me a firm believer in empathy. One of my goals in life is to make people realize the importance of the same. I would like to analyze the human psyche at the most intricate level, focusing on the study of mental illnesses. I wish to expand my horizons, gain more exposure and insight in this field, and establish myself as a successful clinical psychologist. I know that I have a long way to go and I am looking forward to this journey of observing, learning and implementing.
