Admissions are Open for PhD in Psychology (Even Semester) at NIT Kurukshetra

Located in Kurukshetra, Haryana, India, the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra, also known as NIT Kurukshetra or NITKKR, is a public technical and research institution. It received accreditation as an Institute of National Importance (INI) in December 2008. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology that the Indian government founded and supervises. It offers doctorate programs in engineering, sciences, and humanities in addition to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. Currently, online applications are being opened to the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences for admission in PhD in Psychology for even semester 2023-24.

Eligibility Criteria:
  1. A master’s degree in engineering, technology, science, humanities, or management, or an equivalent degree recognised by the institute, must have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of at least 6.5 on a scale of 1 to 10, or an equivalent grade point average as determined by the institute wherever letter grades are awarded in the qualifying degree, or 60% overall where marks are awarded.
  2. At both the bachelor’s and master’s levels, the qualifying requirements for marks and CGPA will be loosened for SC, ST, and PwD candidates by 5% or by a CGPA of 0.5 (on a 10-point scale).
The pattern of Entrance Examination:
  1. All qualified applicants who are not excluded from the written exam must take the two papers in the following objective-type multiple-choice question (MCQ) written test at the postgraduate level:
    • Paper I: 30 marks; 30 minutes; Analytical skills, Reasoning, and Aptitude
    • Paper-II: 40 marks; 40 minutes; Research Area/Specialization
    • Qualifying marks: 40% on each paper
    • The Chairperson DRC/SRC shall provide a list of the eligible applicants from the written exam on the Institute website.
    • The candidates will be assessed by DRC/SRC, who will assign a score out of 30 (10 for presentation, 10 for interview, and 10 for academic achievement).
    • Qualifying marks: 50% (15 out of 30)
  2. To include the applicants on the merit list who were excluded from the written exam, DRC/SRC will award marks out of 100 based on their presentation and interview with DRC/SRC.
  3. Based on a final score of 100, the scores of the remaining applicants will be determined. The relevant DRC / SRC will suggest the merit list of candidates and seat distribution based on the total number of seats available.
