The Department of Psychology at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR is hosting the 34th Annual Convention of the National Academy of Psychology based on the theme, “Contemporary Patterns and Future Trajectories in Psychological Sciences: Advancing from Interdisciplinarity to Transdisciplinarity” (NAOP34, n.d.).
It aims to explore the evolving landscape of mental health and psychological well-being by embracing innovative technologies and multidisciplinary approaches. This convention aims to revolutionize the multifaceted work within psychological research and practice by fostering a culture of inclusivity, diversity, and equity.

The convention is scheduled from 17th to 20th February 2025. It includes a series of events to promote the quality of psychological training and education and enhance professional opportunities for individuals in psychology. There will be notable speakers to address the emerging trends and challenges in this multidisciplinary field, namely Prof. Rev. Dr. Fr. Viju, Prof. Kiran Kumar, Prof. Ashish Pandey, Prof. Manas K Mandal, Prof. R.C Tripathi, Prof. Janak Pandey and Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam.

The convention aims to engage students, researchers, and qualified psychologists in collaborative workshops and interactive discussions to seek deeper insights into emerging and contemporary themes in psychological sciences. The seminars will better understand psychological interventions and mental health wellness programs by bridging the gap between theory and practice.
It will consist of pre-conference workshops, symposium sessions, and panel discussions that will provide an in-depth exploration and comprehensive understanding of the significant topics in psychology and integrate different knowledge systems, focusing particularly on mental health and cultural diversity.

The workshops will include training in culturally sensitive research methodology and data analysis, collaboration techniques and cross-cultural communication, and skill-building sessions to help implement diversity in clinical practices and education settings.
The panel discussions and symposium sessions will explore the latest advancements in psychological research and new theoretical frameworks that address emerging trends and challenges. It will also focus on case studies and effective practices worldwide to promote mental health and well-being in diverse populations. It will also delve into integrating traditional healing practices and understanding Western psychology in diverse cultural contexts. The symposium on Indigenous psychology will delve deeper into unique perspective healing practices and knowledge systems, providing a platform for the experts to discuss the future of psychological sciences in India.

The 34th Annual Convention of NAOP is a significant event for promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and critical conversations about the direction of psychology in India and worldwide. The conference strives to develop psychological practices following current opportunities and obstacles by emphasizing mental health, cultural integration, and emerging trends.
